Here I am, back from a week of Japan. What can I say? Great fun, great food, great attractions, absolutely fabulous.
Ok, instead of doing the usual recounting of everything, I'll just put down the 10 best things about this trip, not in any particular order...
1. Roger and his dad going along - Absolutely crazy to go with a friend. And his dad is really smart too...
2. FOOD! I must admit I've come to love saba (grilled mackerel) and their rice x) I could just keep eating..... xD They have great takoyaki and ramen too....
3. SOUVENIRS! Bought tons of souvenirs, and heres the list - (I'll post it after I give them out, so as to avoid spoilers xD)
4. Yukatas! The Japanese pyjamas are so comfy... loose xD and coupled with the hot springs, heaven.
5. FUJIYAMA - King of coasters. It holds two records, the Longest and the Highest. The funny part is when it just starts, it climbs to the peak immediately, and along the side are these cards, saying like 40m, 50m, 60m, 70m, 79m WORLD RECORD! along the side xD the rides 1st two drops are absolutely thrilling, the adrenaline completely warmed me up heh.
6. Local Tour Guide - This guy's called William, from Singapore, and has a Jap wife. cool, huh. He's really funny, with humourous anecdotes and all that, really worth the laughs xD.
7. RAMADA HOTEL OSAKA - Did I mention that each room comes equipped with a computer that has FREE internet access that no other hotel gives you? DID I ALSO MENTION that the computers are really fast, and the screen was 25 inches wide LCD? Drawback was the lack of space in the room after a 3rd bed was fitted...
8. Weather - It was all clear or a little cloudy, relatively good weather throughout, you've gotta love the cold and dry air, so comfy!... The only problem came on the last day of the tour when we were at DisneySea, and it rained from 8 am until god knows what time, 9 pm? It was a drizzle, but yea, it just stayed up for more than 12 hours, and we happily queued in the rain -.-"
9. Shopping - There are really lots and lots of souvenir shops, and food shops with all their various tidbits, and Mochi... I guess that I did a lot of window shopping cos I was really bored of the stupid attractions, and the glittery keychains always attracted me... haha xD Bought two summer blazers, stuff you definitely can't get in Singapore. For a bargain too! 2k Yen each, roughly about... 27 dollars each?
10. Drinks - Ok, shoot me. I'm addicted to Suntory C.C. Lemon, this lemon drink that apparently has 1400 mg of Vitamin C in it roughly the amount 70 lemons have -.-" so but yea, its not sweet, but neither is it all that sour. Great drink, and I'm guessing that it saved me from a cold or two, given that I brought only two jacket/sweaters over, and not the real winter type... The ginger ale they have there is pretty good too, you can't actually taste ginger xD
All in all, I LOVED this trip. <3 Japan. Hope to see all of you soon to give out souvenirs! My tables crammed chock full -.-"
