The past few days I've been stuck revisiting LotR - The Lord of The Rings. Rewatched the movies, reread the books. In doing so I can finally appreciate J.R.R Tolkien for the writer that he really is. This guy is great. And really, Peter Jackson is amazing. The movies cohere with the books, mostly (I think the main problem comes during battle scenes, where a lot of discrepancies occur). But the fact remains that Peter Jackson deserved the 4+6+11 Oscars that the trilogy won. Splendid. And the trivia on the Internet Movie Database is pretty humourous as well. I mean, who would've guessed that Aragon shouted after kicking a helmet cos he broke two toes? x)
Now that the revisiting is mroe or less over, until New Year's Eve at any rate, where we have the final batch gathering of 2006 for the ventures. If there's a movie marathon, I'm definitely going to ask them to watch LotR. I can't get enough of it, wish I could actually go buy Andúril... but you need a permit to ship a replica in =(
For non-LotR junkies out there, Andúril happens to be Aragorn son of Arathon's sword, reforged from the shards of Narsil, the sword that belonged to Elendil, king of the Numéanor, men of the Sea, who fell to the Dark Lord Sauron and shattered the sword under him. Wow. Haha I actually remember that xD, though there's a lot more but I'm just lazy to type it out... Hahahahahahaha
As a footnote, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
